Requirements:Proven experience as a Rigger with 2+ years of hands-on experience in rigging operations, particularly in construction, industrial, or offshore environments.
A valid rigging certification is required.
Additional certifications in crane operation, lifting, or related fields are an advantage.Successful completion of a relevant Trade TestAbility to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working at heights, and standing for long periods.
Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions.Strong knowledge of safety protocols and rigging standards.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and work within safety guidelines to ensure accident-free rigging operations.Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members, supervisors, and crane operators.Familiarity with a range of rigging tools and equipment, including slings, shackles, hooks, hoists, cranes, winches, and lifting beams.
Knowledge of inspecting and maintaining this equipment is essential.Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other trades on-site.
Must be able to follow instructions from supervisors and communicate rigging plans clearly.Responsibilities:Rigging Operations:Safely perform rigging activities to lift, move, and position heavy equipment, materials, and structures using cranes, hoists, winches, and other rigging gear.Equipment Setup:Select and inspect appropriate rigging equipment such as slings, cables, hooks, chains, and spreaders.
Set up, secure, and inspect rigging gear to ensure safe and secure loads for lifting.Load Calculation:Assist in determining the weight, center of gravity, and rigging configuration of materials and equipment to ensure that the correct rigging methods are used and that lifting operations are safe.Signal and Communication:Work closely with crane operators and other team members to communicate load directions, adjustments, and safety protocols.
Ensure that proper hand signals or radio communication procedures are followed.Safety Compliance:Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including OSHA standards and site-specific safety protocols.
Ensure all rigging activities are conducted with the highest level of safety to protect personnel, equipment, and materials.Inspection and Maintenance:Inspect and maintain rigging equipment and tools, identifying any wear and tear, and reporting defective equipment for repair or replacement.
