Job Description:Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Maintains the equipment to standard:Equipment availabilityEquipment utilizationPlanned maintenanceDown timeQuality complianceSafety standardsMaintenance cost per tonBudget expenditureStock levelsQuantity of delays or disruptions to operations because of Rigger activitiesAccurate information capturedReports completed to required standardHousekeeping standardsRigger administration through the ability to: Obtain daily and weekly work instructions from Engineering ForemanPrepare and plan work priority list and resource requirements in order to complete tasksEnsure that all resources requirements are communicated to Logistics Supervisor in order to complete allocated work ordersComplete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for areaCompile an accurate shift/work order reportsComplete and sign off the allocated work ordersEnsure that technical data is accurateComplete requisitions for stock items requiredPrepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customersComplete the necessary job cards relating to the task done including and description of work and spares usedParticipate in required meetings including safetyAccurately complete role administration requirementsRigger maintenance through the ability to: Ensure that all planned maintenance schedules are accurately complied withEnsure that all work conducted is performed to the required standards and specificationsEnsure that all safety and legal requirements are carefully followedEnsure that the correct tools are used to complete tasksEnsure that materials and equipment are available for the shifts requirements in the areaEnsure the safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment are conducted - Equipment and machinery specific competenceSupervise allocated multi-task team member in order to complete assigned work tasks or ordersEnsure that the prescribed safety equipment is always wornComplete and sign off all allocated planned inspection ordersTeamwork through the ability to:Identify opportunities to improve operationsParticipate in improvement projectsSupport efforts to overcome operational problemsIdentify risks and threats to the process proactivelyInform the Shift supervisor when work is being conducted in the area of responsibilityCo-ordinate maintenance activities with the Shift supervisor, to ensure that the operation is not effected or alternative plans need to be preparedShow the appropriate Shift supervisor how certain low level maintenance and preventative steps can be undertake by the operational team within processCommunicate any stumbling blocks to the appropriate Logistics Supervisor so that plans can be madeEnsure that any operational problem that is encountered is reported even if outside immediate area of responsibilityCommunicate process problems to necessary peopleSupport logistics team members if they require helpHelp engineering employees to maintain equipment in DepartmentEnsure effective two way communications with team membersThis role is at a C2 level reporting to the Engineering Foreman Qualifications:Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2Certified Competent as a Rigger ExperienceNoneKnowledge and SkillsSection 28 qualification from accredited MQA training centresValid driving license code 08Addition of operation of forklifts and overhead cranesAdded requirements for performing rigging and lifting studies
