Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Rewards Specialist to design, implement, and maintain effective reward structures encompassing employee compensation, benefits, and development.
The ideal candidate will ensure alignment with business objectives, legal compliance, and market competitiveness.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain competitive compensation and benefits strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.Manage reward programs, including salary structures and incentive plans, to attract, retain, and motivate employees.Conduct regular market benchmarking to ensure compensation and benefits remain competitive.Collaborate with the Remuneration Committee to review and adjust reward policies as needed.Oversee salary review processes and administer increases in line with organizational goals.Conduct job evaluations and benchmarking across all levels using recognized frameworks.Prepare detailed reports and recommendations on compensation and benefits for senior management.Ensure compliance with labor laws, corporate governance codes, and best practices in remuneration.Provide advice and training to stakeholders on remuneration trends and policies.Lead and manage key reward projects, including incentive design and new benefits programs.Key SkillsStrong knowledge of job evaluation principles and benchmarking methodologies (e.g., Paterson).Proficiency in HR systems and advanced compensation functionalities.Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with HRIS.Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence decisions.In-depth understanding of corporate governance, remuneration principles, and industry best practices.GRP (Global Remuneration Professional) Certification is advantageous.4–6 years of experience in remuneration and rewards.Knowledge of local labor laws and regulations affecting compensation and benefits.QualificationsBachelor's degree or a 3-year diploma in a relevant field (NQF 6 or NQF 7).Membership in SARA (South African Rewards Association) is a plus.
