Revenue Recognition Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Revenue Recognition Specialist with a deep understanding of e-commerce and US GAAP principles, specifically ASC 606. This role is essential to ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our clients revenue reporting, playing a vital role in the financial integrity of our clients organisation. The i deal candidate will bring expertise from a revenue recognition consultancy background, preferably with experience in a top-tier accounting firm. Core Responsibilities: Accurately apply revenue recognition standards in line with US GAAP, with a focus on ASC 606. Evaluate and analyze customer agreements to determine the correct revenue recognition approach. Collaborate with finance, legal, and sales teams to ensure cohesive revenue-related processes. Develop and maintain thorough documentation to support revenue recognition decisions and methodologies. Assist in the preparation of revenue-related financial statements and disclosures. Contribute to month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely revenue reporting. Provide necessary documentation and explanations for audits related to revenue recognition. Stay current with changes in revenue recognition regulations and implement necessary updates. Requirements: A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Extensive experience in revenue recognition under US GAAP, with significant knowledge of ASC 606. A strong background in e-commerce is essential. CPA certification or equivalent is preferred. Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams. Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex financial concepts to non-financial team members. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, particularly those integrated with e-commerce platforms. A proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
