Retail Sales Development Manager - Spar Channel

OverviewOur client in the FMCG Industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Sales Representative to join their team.
The successful incumbent will drive sales and foster strong relationships within the Spar Channel and existing retailers across the Gauteng area.
With a proven track record in FMCG sales and a deep understanding of the Spar Channel (primary focus), this individual will play a key role in achieving our business objectives.Minimum RequirementsGrade 12/Matric8+ years experience in FMCG sales, with significant experience in the Spar Channel.Comprehensive understanding of the retail and FMCG landscape in Gauteng.Must be based in Johannesburg and able to travel extensively across GautengJob ResponsibilitiesAccount ManagementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with Spar store owners, managers, and decision-makers as well as our existing retail channels.Ensure customer satisfaction through regular calling, communication, and support.Sales GrowthMeet and exceed sales targets and objectives within the entire Gauteng region and Free State in the future.Identify and action new opportunities to grow sales within existing and new Spar accounts.
This is the primary focus.Identify opportunities for wholesale customersIdentify and action new opportunities in the current customer base of Shoprite, Checkers, and Food Lovers Market.Market Insights & StrategyMonitor and analyse sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity to execute the company's sales strategy.Provide insights to inform sales strategies and promotional activities.Sales and Merchandising AgentsOversee the current sales agent's activities in retail stores.
This would include contributions/presentations at regular cycle briefs, training and upskilling their sales teams.Ensure the correct placement of products and compliance with merchandising standards.ReportingProvide weekly sales progress and activity reports to the Managing Director.Track and report on KPIs, including sales growth and customer engagement metrics.Key Competencies/SkillsStrong negotiation skillsCommunication and interpersonal skills.Ability to analyse data and use insights to drive sales performance.Proficiency in Customer Relations Management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Self-motivated, and results-orientedAble to work independently.
