Retail Operations Optimization Manager

Ballito, KZN. Fast-growing National Retail Chain focused on the convenience sector seeks a professional Retail Operations Optimization Manager responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of retail operations. Solid retail experience preferably within FMCG sector, to identify maintenance and improvement areas within their stores.
Responsibilities:
Identify maintenance areas and maintenance work performed, which will involve contacting contractors / service providers and obtaining quotes for approval
Aesthetics review and report back
Identify areas of weakness affecting the brand and formulate improvement plan
Speaking to Site Managers and hearing their concerns and suggestions and reporting back on the ideas that are feasible and will be beneficial for the business in totality (including staff concerns)
Understanding the economic area and formulating plans / promotions / ideas to improve the running of the business
Maintaining very high standards of neatness and tidiness of both forecourt and convenience store
Assisting with management of aesthetics of convenience stores and deli and making improvements where need be
Reviewing of merchandising and convenience store dry stock available
Propose and manage marketing budgets and expenditure for sites 
Assist with hiring and training of staff at the various sites together with HR
Ensure the sites are compliant with health and safety and hygiene requirements together with H&S Manager 
Requirements:
Retail experience (preferably in FMCG)
Drivers licence
Willingness to travel frequently to do site visits
Good team player and ability to form strong relationships with Site Managers
