This Head of Department role is responsible for the profitable and efficient running of the hotel's food and beverage operation, ensuring our guests enjoy a five-star experience. With food and beverage outlets across three levels, this is a challenging role for a seasoned Restaurant Manager.
The award-winning True South Dining Room epitomises sophisticated and elegant dining, the Bordeau Lounge Bar offers a tasty all-day menu and extensive wine offering, and our conference spaces provide a wide choice of facilities for more intimate events through to larger cocktail parties. Our private wine cellar stocks one of the most comprehensive collections of international and New Zealand wines.

Responsibilities include: Managing the efficient operation of all food and beverage services through the hotel outlets and conference spaces to ensure outstanding guest serviceManaging ordering of stock, and completion and analysis of monthly stocktakesLeadership and management of the Food and Beverage teamManaging health and safetyDriving change and implementing new ideas for revenue generation and enhancing profile of food and beverage offeringsMaintenance of food, beverage, wage and operational costsPreparation of rosters and managing time and attendanceSelection and recruitment of staff, identification and facilitation of training, performance management and all other day to day HR responsibilities.Skills, experience and attributes: Two to three years' food and beverage management experience in quality establishmentsLicence Controller Qualification and Manager's Certificate, or the ability to obtain theseStrong leadership experienceOrganisational and communication skillsSolid experience managing people, including being responsible for recruitment, training, coaching and performance managementExperience managing stocktakesPrevious experience with POS systems and a strong systems orientationWine knowledge or qualification such as WSET Level 2 or 3 highly desirableThe flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays as requiredBenefits and rewards: Full-time permanent roleSustainability is at the forefront of everything we do, with a strong in-house environmental and social sustainability programmeFree parkingDuty mealsWellbeing initiatives, including EAP programmeOther benefits and rewards applyIn order to apply for this position, you must hold the legal right to work in New Zealand.
