This role is pivotal in ensuring regulatory compliance, upholding pharmaceutical excellence, and supporting the cultivation and export of high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade medical cannabis dried flower.RESPONSIBILITIESRegulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the cultivation, handling, and distribution of medical cannabis products.Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure the consistency, purity, safety, and potency of medical cannabis products.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory systems to ensure accurate tracking of medical cannabis products from cultivation to distribution, including record-keeping and documentation.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cultivation, processing, and distribution teams to integrate pharmaceutical best practices throughout the production process.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records as required by regulatory bodies and prepare reports on pharmaceutical activities and compliance metrics.Checking & Signing: Oversee packaging line clearances and equipment checks, ensuring quality control sign-offs before and after packaging.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to improve cannabis cultivation and pharmaceutical practices.Policy & SOP Development: Create, update, and implement company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and quality management system (QMS) documentation related to cGMP & GACP compliance.Compliance Oversight: Stay current and ensure adherence to all SAHPRA regulations, GMP guidelines, and GACP principles.Batch Release: Balance and sign off on the Schedule 7 Balancing Register and ensure each batch satisfies the required conditions before release.HR & Confidentiality: Comply with HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Bachelor's in Pharmacy (BPharm) from an accredited institution.Licensure: Current valid pharmacist license in South Africa.Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in pharmaceutical practice, preferably in a regulated industry such as medical cannabis, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of South African laws and regulations governing medical cannabis cultivation, production, and distribution.Technical Expertise: Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and Good Agricultural Collection Practices (GACP) in pharmaceutical production.Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.Independence: Ability to work independently while making sound decisions in consultation with senior management.Professionalism: Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.Background Check: Must be at least 21 years old and pass a criminal background check.Location: Must be physically based at the facility in the Bonnievale-surrounds area in the Western Cape.WHY JOIN US?At Sea Blue Ocean (Pty) Ltd, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to an innovative industry with a meaningful impact on healthcare.
