The successful candidate will be based in our Cape Town offices, but with regular travel overseas to support on response and consulting tasks. Therefore, a candidate with geopolitical knowledge and interest, language abilities and a willingness and adaptability to support bespoke, international projects is sought after. The position further requires education to a master's (MA) level in a sector relevant subject matter, 1-2 years of relevant work experience and language abilities.What You Will Work OnThe successful candidate will very quickly be involved in tasks and projects supporting the wider Crisis Security Consulting department. No two days are the same, and the Associate Consultant will work on bespoke reporting and threat assessments across geographies and threat types, analysing data and presenting it to clients, supporting operations on the ground during domestic and international deployments and editing and proofing the work of your peers. The candidate will also need to support out-of-hours tasks when required, as part of a wider team "on-call" rotation system (a week of "on call" every 8-10 weeks approximate). The Associate Consultant will quickly become adept at multiple types of task delivery, which will support in their professional development within Crisis24.Who You Will Work WithThe successful candidate will work within the wider Associate Consultant team, supporting international consulting across the Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Asia Pacific, as well as our Special Risks, All Hazards, and Product Risks response team. As well as the Crisis and Security Consulting department, the Associate Consultant will often work across and collaborate with the wider Crisis24 group and GardaWorld partners.What You Will BringInternational Relations/Security Studies (or similar) at a master's level qualification (post will also accept Honors level qualification)1-2 years relevant industry specific experience alternative to master's level educationExperience of working in a variety of environments is required to adapt to demonstrate adaptabilityAn adaptable and flexible approach to working is required – the role will involve oversea deployments for extended periods of time, including potentially high-risk areasIntegrity, professionalism, and discretion; individuals must be able to handle information and issues of the upmost sensitivityAn understanding of Security and Risk Management principles based on best practice standardsVery high standard of written/verbal English and business-level language ability – candidates with native/business level French, Spanish and /or Polish will be prioritisedTime management skills, including the ability to keep to tight deadlinesA team player who can operate independently when requiredInterested in geopolitical and security issues and how such issues impact various global sectorsIT literate with a demonstrative knowledge of all Windows programs and applicationsEligibility to reside/work in the South AfricaPreferredExperience traveling within high-risk regions/countries is preferableA demonstratable understanding of regions and relevant security picture/prominent threatsA knowledge of cyber threats, cyber threat actors and malware/ransomware variantsUnderstanding of OSINT monitoring platforms and applicationsExperience of driving abroadInformation SecurityProtect the data and systems of Crisis24 and its stakeholders by adhering to policies, reporting incidents and potential problems, completing regular training, and identifying opportunities for improvement.Crisis24, A GardaWorld Company is dedicated to equal opportunity in employment.
