Residential Construction Quantity Surveyor & Estimator – JohannesburgThe QS role is in a Main Contractor environment, and candidates must have at least 6 – 10 years of experience in Residencial building and renovationsAssist in preparing estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities and allowable for new construction projects and/or improvement projects.Carry out sub-contractor valuations and certification.Oversee accounting on new projects together with final accounts with sub-contractors and suppliers.Undertake financial checks, maintain financial controls, and monitor costs of the projects against the project allowable.Reviews of rates for local sub-contractors to ensure their continued relevance.Undertake analysis of the performance of suppliers and sub-contractors during the contract stage and following contract completion, check compliance with contract terms and conditions and legal and regulatory requirements.Assist with on-site measurements as required.Attend any pre-contract, progress or other related meetings as required.Assist the W3O Projects division in preparing, monitoring and managing budgets for all projects executed by Washirika 3 Oaks.KEY REQUIREMENTS / STRENGTHS BSc Honours or BTech in Quantity Surveying.To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate.To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.To be willing to accept responsibility for completing designated tasks.Ability to analyse and process technical data.An understanding of JBCC contracts is essential. Other contract knowledge is desirable.Computer-literate in MS Word and Excel with an intermediate knowledge of CCS or related software.A good understanding of communication channels and efficiency with administration & paperwork.Own transport requiredApply for this position
