Resident Site Engineer - NewcastleResponsibilities:Engineers representative on site.Responsible for communicating with the Principal engineer on a daily basis and feeding back all details of the site.Be able to read and understand all drawings/documentation issued to site. Keep a record or log of every drawing issued. Work relates to the following:Bulk earthworks and selected earthworks related to trenches.New concrete.Brickwork to new and existing.New roof.Demolitions and existing works.New Water (Retic and wet services).New Sewer (Retic and wet services).New Stormwater and manholes.New Access Road.New Security Walls.Check the Works are in compliance with the drawings issued and ensure every dimension or level is strictly adhered to.Check Trench excavated Foundations and confirm founding conditions. Be able to liaise with Geotechnical team appointed. Sign off on Foundations and prepare all sketch drawings and paperwork for engineer related to inspection checks & approvals.Check and sign off of all reinforcement and Blinding prior to concrete being poured.Do Test cubes for concrete and check lab results. Witness every concrete pour and sign off on completed work.Check Structural formwork and any supporting scaffolding and feedback to Safety Engineer. Supervise demolition and ensure safety compliances.Check all dimensions on drawings and ensure works in compliance with Architectural and engineering drawings issued.Sign off on all completed work and prepare all related paperwork to the checks and balances put in place.Check and approve all Civils works related to Water, Sanitation, Stormwater, Roadways undertaking all SANS 1200 related testing to obtain the relative approvals.Prepare As-built records (Hand written) on approved drawings issued by All Engineers and Architect.Check Measurements prepared by QS and confirm numbers.Issue Site instructions related to the works and as directed by the Engineer. Manage Site Instruction Book and feedback in meeting regarding Instructions issued and results thereof.Keep Daily Diary and sign off each day.Take minutes of meetings and prepare minutes of every site meeting.Keep record of everything on site and keep accurate logs of test and results. Manage ALL site information.Coordinate all site activity with respect to the professional team.Attend Site Safety meetings and obtain minutes from the site Safety rep for all meetings. Feedback to Engineer.Minimum Qualifications:Qualified Engineer/Retired Engineer (Civils or Structural) Valid and in place Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng (CIVILS/STRUCTURAL) 10 years or more.Must have done Multistorey Buildings Civils and Structural.Package & RemunerationMarket and experience related.
