Position: Reserve Manager Location: Limpopo Job Overview: The Reserve Manager will oversee the management and implementation of tasks related to reserve maintenance, ecological services, and personnel management within a private game reserve. This role requires extensive monitoring and adaptive management processes to ensure the sustainability and conservation of wildlife and plant species. Key Responsibilities: Reserve Management: Conservation of flora and fauna Management of animal population dynamics Implementation of supplement feeding programs for large herbivores Development and oversight of security and anti-poaching programs Coordination of education initiatives and aerial game censuses Management of animal well-being and alien plant eradication Supervision of controlled burning and sustainable water resource use Liaison with relevant governmental and non-governmental stakeholders Reserve Maintenance: Management of perimeter fencing, road networks, and water reticulation Oversight of waste management systems Personnel Management: Staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations Management of staff rosters and well-being Implementation of disciplinary actions and incentives Administration: Compilation and management of the annual reserve budget Preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports Fleet management and procurement of operational equipment Estate Management: Experience in managing multiple stakeholders and commercial operations is essential Participation in meetings and presentations as needed Candidate Profile: Self-motivated and capable of independent work Honest and ethical in nature Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ArcView preferred B-Tech in Nature Conservation (or similar); M-Tech preferred Salary and Benefits: Market-related salary Accommodation and work vehicle provided 5% company-funded provident fund 50% company-funded medical aid
