Job Responsibilities:Planting seeds and seedlings for research & commercial purposes.Grafting, budding, pruning of trees, harvesting of fruits for seed extraction.Collecting/harvesting of graft woods on various crops for research & commercial purposes.Irrigation, fertilizer application, weed control, pest and disease control.Sampling of plants for evaluation purposes.Maintenance of fence and shade nets.Utilize tools and materials, under supervision.Provide verbal feedback on work activities to supervisor.Identify and participate in own learning opportunities.Comply with SHE/OHS regulations and procedures.Minimum Requirements:Grade 10 or minimum of 5 years relevant experience in plant propagation.Ability to operate farm machinery and general upkeep of the nursery.Knowledge of both nursery and laboratory practices.Good communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.Good health and physical ability.A good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety experience will also be an added advantage.Enquiries: Mr O Maphanga.
