In achieving this vision, the Faculty is guided by values of integrity, respect, equity and diversity.Your opportunity:The Research Officer is part of a team working at the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education and specifically in the Exercise Oncology Lab (Principal Investigator: Dr. Linda Trinh). The Research Officer supports various research and administrative aspects of several research projects, with a general focus on behaviour change and cancer survivorship. The lab engages in highly collaborative projects with other faculty members, as well as some of the largest cancer centres in Canada (Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Odette Cancer Centre). The Research Officer will regularly interact with staff, investigators, external researchers, faculty, and current or potential research participants to conduct and record research activities.Your responsibilities will include:Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up itemsFollowing rules and procedural instructions when administering research studiesDisseminating and collecting research surveys and questionnairesTracking and monitoring research activitiesMaintaining information and databases on digital platformsEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Sciences or Kinesiology with a specialization in exercise oncologyMinimum one year of experience co-ordinating and managing exercise oncology-related trialsMinimum one year of experience working with cancer survivorsExperience with the delivery of randomized controlled trials in exercise oncologyExperience with device-measured physical activity and sedentary behaviour (e.g., accelerometers, Fitbits, inclinometers)Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), online survey softwareStrong written and verbal communication skills, leadership, time management, and organizational skillsProficiency with qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques and softwareAbility to work independently, and also collaboratively in a multidisciplinary teamProven ability to deal with people in a tactful and effective manner, ability to exhibit sound judgment in decision making, ability to work independently and in a teamProblem solver project-related issues as they ariseMeticulous attention to detailMust be able to work well under pressure, especially during peak study periodsTo be successful in this role you will be:MeticulousOrganizedTeam playerNote: This is a Part Time at 50% FTE 1-year term positionClosing Date: 01/07/2025, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Grant - TermSchedule: Part-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 08 -- $62,832. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $80,351.
