Description: AHRI is recruiting for a Research Assistant as part of the Clinical Core team to assist with the running of the Clinical Core everyday activities. The incumbent may assist the Research nurses coordinate study visits as needed. The incumbent will assist with making sure that the Clinical Core studies are approved and all required ethics and DOH approvals are always in place. The incumbent will be responsible for taking minutes and the team's administration duties.
Overview of Duties: Understand and update study protocols. Facilitate follow-up visits. Carry out study procedures according to Standard Operating Procedures and study protocol. Support Study Leads. Ensure regular liaison with all relevant stakeholders and maintain good working relationships. Carry out any other duties as directed by Line Manager and Principal Investigator. Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12/Matric Minimum Experience: One to two years of experience in consenting, tracking, and coordinating research. Computer literate, proficient in MS Office, email and internet. A good understanding of the areas from a geographic, cultural, and healthcare perspective would be an advantage. Database handling would be an advantage. GCP compliant and knowledge of medical, research and clinical terminology would be an advantage. Skills Required: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Accuracy and precision. Must be able to work under pressure. Able to work independently with minimum supervision/no supervision. Good work ethic and good organisational and interpersonal skills. Worker Type: Employee
