OverviewThe Reasearch and Developemnt Manager is responsible for activities within the Omnia R&D group ensuring theReasearch and Developemnt group's strategy is focused and aligned with the strategic Reasearch and Developemnt direction of the Omnia group.
This role requires a blend of : technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills to drive our Reasearch and Developemnt team towards achieving key business objectives QualificationsAdvanced Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Biochemistry, Agricultural Science, or related fieldsMatric / Grade 12 ExperienceProven experience (5+ years) in Agricultural R&DResearch Management skills focusing on Biostimulant and chemical fertilizer development research.Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team of researchers DutiesDevelop and implement R&D strategies aligned with Omnia Group's strategic direction and business goalsDevelop and manage the R&D budget effectively, allocating resources efficientlyManage multiple research projects concurrently, lead the formulation of short-term and long-term research plans to enhance product portfolio, focusing on biological product expansion ensuring scientific methodology is followed and timelines and budgets are adhered toCoordinate and develop cross-functional teams including scientists, chemists, engineers, biotechnologists, analysts, and technicians.Foster collaborations with internal divisions and external research institutions, universities, and industry partners to leverage expertise and resources.Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancementsMonitor team metrics and objectives to ensure the meeting of goalsDocument all phases of research and development Job Competencies• Ability to work under pressure• Deadline driven• Technically competent• Good business experience• Good research experience• A Strong Sense of Creativity• Attention to Detail• Strategic Thinking• Business Acumen• Analytical Thinking• Stakeholder Management• Creative problem solving• Driven and self-motivated• Flexible and adaptable• Collaboration
