This role is crucial in helping Spartan understand sectorial and economic trends, initiatives, key stakeholders & activities across various provinces in South Africa to better serve our SME clients.Spartan's Research EthosSpartan's research efforts are grounded in strategy, thorough investigation, deliberate analysis, and continuous improvement. This means the research department requires an individual who is a critical thinker, with technical empathy and is techno-savvy (as Spartan uses numerous research platforms and analytical tools).Job DescriptionAs a Research Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting both desktop and on-the-ground research to gather and analyze data on sectorial and economic trends, initiatives, key stakeholders & activities across various provinces. The role will include, but is not limited to:Data Collection: Perform comprehensive research to gather relevant data from various sources, including online databases, reports, and field studies.Sector Analysis: Analyze industry-specific trends and provide insights into emerging opportunities and challenges for SMEs.Economic Trend Analysis: Monitor and interpret economic data to understand the broader economic landscape affecting different provinces.Report Preparation: Compile detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings and providing actionable recommendations.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to ensure comprehensive and accurate data collection.Market Monitoring: Stay updated on current market conditions and trends to provide timely and relevant insights.Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected data and analysis.Desired Skills and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Research Methodology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in research, with a focus on economic and sectorial analysis.Skills: Strong knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis techniques. Proficiency in research tools and software. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.Attributes: Critical thinker with a strategic approach. Strong organizational and time management skills.
