Job Description Group Reporting and Insights (GR&I) is seeking a suitably qualified individual as Project Manager in the Finance Delivery, Project & Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving results through the efforts of others.
Key Result Areas Project management and coordination of key finance reporting cycles being year-end, interims, quarterly and monthly reporting, including both internal and external reporting processes.
Planning and coordination of the end-to-end results reporting typesetting processes.
Stakeholder management and engagement to ensure timely delivery of reporting outcomes.
Management and coordination of small to medium projects within the GR&I team, and the impacts of external projects within the GR&I.
Assists the Business Continuity Manager to embed and deliver a successful Business Resilience (BR) programme in GR&I and across Group Finance.
Assistance with general team management and administration functions.
Planning Develop and agree detailed Group reporting timetable and instructions for quarterly, interim and year-end reporting cycles.
Plan and coordinate reporting cycle changes and impacts and obtain suitable sign-offs where required.
Progress tracking Manage the delivery of the required reporting cycle/project outcomes and deviations to plan.
Accurately log risks, actions, issues and decisions and follows up on open items.
Facilitate core meetings and activities during key reporting cycles.
Manage the reporting cycle/project risks, including resourcing risks and the development of contingency plans.
Appropriately escalate key risks/issues and/or initiate corrective action where necessary.
Coordinate and facilitate regular reporting cycle status/project update meetings.
Prepare reporting cycle/project progress reports.
Typesetting / Third-party providers Plan and coordinate the end-to-end typesetting processes for the results reporting cycle documents. This will include:
Coordination of contracting/RFP processes for third party typesetting service providers.
End-to-end Project management of third-party service provider deliveries in accordance with the agreed specifications and quality requirements.
End-to-end Project management of GR&I inputs into these processes.
Coordination of contracting/RFP processes for other reporting cycle/project third party service providers and end-to-end project management of their impact on the reporting cycle/project processes.
Business Continuity (BC)/Business Resilience (BR) Coordination:
For GR&I: Coordination and implementation of BR activities within GR&I.
Regularly interacts with the Plan Owner(s) in maintaining support for the BR Programme.
At as point of entry for all BR engagements i.e. setting up review/update meetings, planning, communicating and testing for the GR&I
Coordinate training and awareness around BR activities.
Draft reports on BR business activities for EXCO meetings (status updates, next steps, challenges experienced, incidents that occurred, opportunities and overall compliance to BR policy)
For Group Finance: Plan, coordinate, track and report all BR activities across Group Finance.
Provide support and guidance to Group Finance Business continuity coordinators to ensure overall Group Finance compliance with the Business Resilience policy.
Stakeholder Management Proactive communication to ensure visibility of reporting cycle/project status and the resulting impact to GR&I and wider Old Mutual stakeholders.
Ensure buy in / appropriate sign-off from key stakeholders at different stage gates or milestones.
Direct and motivate the reporting cycle/project teams to ensure successful delivery within scope, time and quality agreements.
Team management and administration Assisting with overall GR&I team management and administration as required, supporting the GR&I Coordinator/Business Partner, Reporting Project Manager and GR&I Strategic Business Partner.
Acts as a safeguard for the team.
Personal Effectiveness Results oriented - Driving and facilitating activities to achieve the necessary outcomes.
Experience managing and coordinating finance reporting cycle and typesetting processes.
Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
Proficient in MS Office, Project, Planview, and/or Teams planner.
Vendor management and understanding of contracting.
Adherence to processes and structured work methods.
Works well under pressure and high tolerance for stress.
Proactive and self-driven.
Team Effectiveness Individually accountable for achieving results through the efforts of others.
Balances own priorities with directing and motivating others.
Plans and assigns work over the applicable period.
Guides and directs staff to achieve operational excellence standards.
Manages performance.
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience required Matric
Tertiary qualification (finance/ Project management)
Minimum 5 years' experience in project management or similar role within the financial sector.
Engage with senior stakeholder (finance Heads and CFOs, steercos)
Accredited Project Manager Qualification will be advantageous.
Experience in Agile methodologies will be advantageous.
Previous OM Group Financial Reporting experience will be advantageous.
Previous reporting suite typesetting management experience will be advantageous.
Attention to detail.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
A flexible approach and ability to adapt.
Ability to work under stress and to tight deadlines.
Strong inter-personal skills and conflict management skills.
Strong communication skills.
Must be able and willing to work after-hours/weekends during the key reporting cycles / when working towards key project milestones/deliveries.
