A position as a Reinsurance Claims Administrator in the Santam Re and International Finance Team based at Bellville, Cape Town is available for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate.
JOB DESCRIPTION The main responsibilities will entail executing the financial aspects of reinsurance claims, including the processing of reinsurance claims transactions, preparing claim reports and settling/recovering outstanding balances.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Accurate loading of all claims and reserves • Claims queries with relevant internal and external stakeholders • Reviewing of reserves and estimates bi-annually, based on the reserve report and renewal packs• Timely payment of claims• Monthly claims reporting (adhoc) QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • Matric (minimum) with accounting or tertiary qualification with accounting as a module • Insurance related qualification (advantageous)• Minimum of 1-2 years claims, finance or underwriting experience (essential) SKILLS • High numerical skills• Analytical ability and logical reasoning• Attention to detail• Building networks and good relationships• Prioritization• Concise communication skills• Interpersonal skills• Computer literate including good working knowledge of MS Office• Knowledge of VAT and Forex payments (recommended)• Problem solving• Reconciliations• Stakeholder engagement• Learning and Researching• Team Work COMPETENCIES • Collaboration• Drives results• Flexible and adaptable• Cultivates innovation• Client Focus• Relating and networking• Reporting and administration• Planning and Organising ABOUT THE COMPANY Santam is the leading short-term insurer in South Africa.
