A vacancy exists for a Rehab Attendant based at Life Eugene Marais Rehabilitation Unit, reporting to Rehabilitation Therapy Services Coordinator.Critical OutputsEnsure excellent patient and customer care in accordance with Life Standards.Build effective relationships with patients, doctors, and other medical personnel to ensure quality patient care.Conduct basic ward duties as allocated by Therapy Services Coordinator.Maintain all Health, Safety, and Infection Control Standards.Set-up of rehabilitation space.Prepare, clean, and tidy gym area and equipment as required.Ensure that equipment in the GYM is functional and in good working order.Assist therapists with exercises, group therapy, mobility exercises, ADL, and patient transfers.Help with independence training.Support nursing staff (under the instruction and supervision of nursing staff); assist with patient bathing, self-care, and mouth care.Assist with feeding patients.General support: preparation of bed space prior to admission, stocking of linen trolleys, and filling of water bottles.RequirementsA Matric certificate.Minimum 3 months training as a caregiver with a recognized institution, preferably with post-training rehabilitation experience.Good communication skills with diverse customers.Experience as a caregiver in a private hospital setup will be an advantage.The successful candidate will be required to work Day Duty, hours depending on ward requirements.CompetenciesCaring positive attitudeCustomer focusProblem-solving, analysis, and judgmentVerbal & written communicationInfluencing skillsPersonal integrityEthical behaviorCommitment towards continuous improvementAbility to build relationshipsDrive and energyProcess orientationIndependenceConflict managementSelf-managementEmail: ****** date: Sunday, August 25, 2024Internal applicants - Before making an application, you are requested to discuss your application with your line manager.
