Registered Nurse PositionThe main purpose of this position:The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost-effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies. The role includes direct and/or indirect nursing care of patients, assessing, planning, executing, and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.Minimum Requirements:Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered NurseMatric qualificationRelevant experience in a Medical UnitCompulsory BLSAdvanced Computer LiteracyCapacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislationDuties & Responsibilities:Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activitiesContribute to the holistic care of patientsAttend handover of report at shift commencementCommunicate effectively with patients regarding their carePromote patient health and wellbeingAudit health records to ensure complianceEnsure all stock is well controlled and managed, charged and credited appropriatelyPromote and maintain good public relations with patients, relatives, and visitorsFlexibility in rotation to other wards when occupancies fluctuate
