Position: Registered Nurse | 2IC | Ward 5 | Orthopedic
A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse 2IC in ward 5, at Life Wilgers Hospital situated in Pretoria. The above position reports to the Unit Manager. The successful candidate will contribute to the effective functioning of this unit and ensure quality nursing care to all patients.
Critical OutputsConduct basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.Ensure that the unit is run according to acceptable legal standards.Maintain excellent patient and customer care in accordance with Life Healthcare standards.Maintain sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives, and the multi-disciplinary team.Deliver market-leading evidenced-based clinical care.Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders that enhance and optimize business growth.Deliver cost-effective care across all business processes within the agreed budgetary parameters.Optimize and efficiently utilize resources as per agreed budgetary parameters.Ensure optimal product utilization including pharmaceuticals, equipment, and sundries.Meet Patient Experience, Clinical, and Safety (Patient and Employee) outcomes targets.Investigate and close customer complaints and adverse events within specified time frames.Comply with LHC policies, Work Procedures & workflows (WP).Retain employees through leadership and empowerment, reducing turnover of staff.Effectively recruit, retain, and promote staff aligned to EE targets and LHC as the employer of choice.Increase the number of trained staff and staff engaged in formal/informal training programs.Foster a lifelong partnership with our customers and position LHC as the hospital of choice.RequirementsDiploma/Degree in Nursing.Orthopedic ward – Nursing experience.Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).Active registration on SANC.Participative and collaborative management style.Capacity to lead, foster, and develop a healthy and positive working environment, promoting joint performance and value-based culture.Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.Contemporary knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial relations, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards.CompetenciesProblem-solving, analysis, and judgment.Resilience.Engaging diversity.Verbal & written communication and presentation.Influencing.Action orientation.Building relationships.Customer responsiveness.Organizational awareness.Excellence orientation.Email: ******
