About the job Regional Payroll Manager (Temp)Key purpose:Managing and leading the regional Payroll team. Ensuring full compliance across the AME (Africa and Middle East) region. Coordinate and collaborate with other departments for tax year closings and other regulatory requirements.Duties and responsibilities:Responsible for the accurate administration and reconciliation of the wages and salaries payrollsSage VIP system maintenance and administration with regards to payroll informationLead and manage the Payroll teamEnsure the accurate and timeous administration of new employees or terminations as well as personal information changesFormulates, documents, implements and administers end-to-end payroll processes, policies, and practicesEnsure accurate capturing and processing of weekly and monthly payrollsTake ownership for reconciling the VIP Payroll system with Workday and administrating the process of correcting any reconciling issuesInitiating improvement projects to improve the efficiency of the team and reduce workload requirementsPartner with the Human Resource department in ensuring all required deadlines are met and accuracy of information is maintainedEnsure timeous administration of leave / sick leaveEnsure printing of weekly / monthly audit reportsReconcile audit reports to weekly / monthly payrollsEnsuring the processing and loading of payslips on WorkdayEnsure that personnel records are maintained and updatedEnsure all payroll reports are signed off by the finance departmentEnsuring compliance to tax and statutory requirements across the regionLiaising with third-party service providers in designing procedures to comply with foreign payroll requirements including expat payrollReconciliation of all payrolls to GL, including control accounts and provision accountsTimeous and accurate 3rd party payments as per reconciliationsResponsible for IRP5 reconciliation, printing and issuing thereofResponsible for IRP5 e-filingResponsible to resolve any SARS queriesPrevious experience with VIP Payroll is a mustPrevious experience with Workday will be beneficialManage the performance and service delivery of the team, i.e. to take overall accountability for the performance of the team and the execution of subordinates in line with their delegated responsibilitiesEnsure retirement and other policy claims are accurately and timeously processedSupport management in formulating and establishing quarterly forecasts and annual budgetsAdhere to all HSE and housekeeping requirementsAdhere to Duty of Care Policy at all timesQualifications and experience:BCom Accounting DegreeBachelor's degree in commerceGrade 12 CertificateSage VIP6 to 10 years related experienceStaff management experienceMust have payroll and compliance experience related to multiple jurisdictions in Africa and Middle East for payrolls over 1,000 employeesKeen understanding and application of relevant labour legislation
