We are looking to employ a National Maintenance Manager to work within the Property & Store Design department. This role will be based at Clicks Head Office, Woodstock, Cape Town and report into the Property & Store Design Executive.
Job Purpose Responsible for the efficient planning, coordination and delivery of store maintenance within the region, ensuring store operational services and equipment are fully compliant and functional at all times.
Job Objectives Promptly and efficiently action and resolve all maintenance issues and requests according to required standards and specifications.Effectively manage company assets, ensuring the control of all assets moved and liaising with landlords when changes are required.Source and manage contractors and suppliers and ensure required documentation, SLA's and monthly scorecards are in place, and adhered to at all times.Control costs by negotiating the best possible rate for work undertaken by contractors.Manage projects and coordinate the work of contractors, ensuring minimum disruption to core activities, checking that agreed work by staff and/or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.Provide support to deliver preventative as well as reactive maintenance (repairs, replacements, cleaning and prevention) with maintenance service providers.Regularly follow up with key stakeholders to ensure work done by contractors is satisfactory.Conduct inspections within the DC and provide weekly updates on maintenance issues and monthly reports to the General Manager.Follow and enforce all health and safety policies and procedures at all times; report any safety issues to line management, ensuring all required compliances and certifications are in place at all times.Ensure the site and parameter housekeeping, cleanliness, and general up-keeping is adhered to.Manage the up-to-standard maintenance of the generator and water pumps and ensure they are in optimal condition.Manage the relationship between the DC and the related municipalities and councils to ensure contracts are always up-to-date and queries are resolved.Manage the state of all on-site notice boards, ensuring only relevant and up-to-date information is displayed at all times.Manage a team of all Facility Management personnel, as well as all appointees in the H&S bodies within the DC.Manage the overall availability, cleaning, repairing, placement and maintenance of all assets used in the everyday operation in the DC.Ensure that the site is at the highest safety levels and all risks are known and mitigated.Manage the waste processing on site, and mitigate any operational disturbances it may cause.Job Related Knowledge Essential: Knowledge of the external construction market / building and site maintenance.Essential: Knowledge of procurement and contract management.Desirable: Knowledge of the retail industry.Desirable: Knowledge of SAP.Desirable: HR and people management.Job Related Skills Good numerical acumen (checking costs).Project management and good organisational / administrative skills.Good spoken and written communication skills.Customer / client management skills - ability to develop working relations with a range of people.Dealing with a varied and wide-ranging workload.Budget management.Problem-solving and decision-making ability.Experience At least 3 years' experience in facilities / maintenance management within a multi-site.2-3 years project management experience.2-3 years customer service experience.Experience working with external contractors, drafting and implementing SLA's.Experience within a retail store environment.Education Grade 12 Qualification.NQF equivalent.Diploma in Project Management, Facilities Management or related.
