Job Vacancy: Refrigeration & HVAC Commissioning Technician
A vacancy exists in the Utility and Environmental Unit in Pinetown (HVAC) for a Refrigeration & HVAC Commissioning Technician reporting to the Servicing & Commissioning Manager.
Duties:

Understand the working principles and operation of air-conditioning systems.
Understand the working principles and operation of chilled water systems.
Understand electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and P & I Diagrams.
Ability to fault find and trace HVAC mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
Accept traveling countrywide for short periods of time to commission and service HVAC installations.
Ability to persevere and put in extra hours if necessary.
Inspection of electrical and hand tools.
Working at elevated positions.
Following safe hot work practices (cutting, grinding, drilling, tacking, jacking).
Determine correct PPE to be worn for a specific job.
Able to complete job risk assessment.
Good housekeeping practices.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

Matric
N3 with the subjects Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Trade Theory
Red Seal Trade tested artisan

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years field experience in Industrial Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Previous experience in Commissioning and Servicing chilled water HVAC Plant installations in the Industrial Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical Sectors.
