The responsibilities of the Business Analyst include gathering, analyzing, and preparing documentation such as business cases, detailed impact assessments, and functional specification documents required for Astron Energy corporate functions and shared platforms. They will also report on any IT-generated demand as well as business-generated enhancements required. The Business Analyst is responsible for facilitating reporting standardization across functional areas by identifying standardization opportunities and optimizing the existing reporting framework.
Key Responsibilities: The Business Analyst supports the refinery domain architect and refinery BRM by preparing accurate business requirements and supporting any required business cases for IT-generated projects.The Business Analyst supports the domain architect by accurately documenting business reporting and enhancement requirements and improving reporting standardization across different functional areas.Leads workshops with IT and the refinery to gather requirements for IT projects, including functional and non-functional requirements.May lead small to medium projects as required or serve as project resources.Responsible for documenting requirements and transferring knowledge to project delivery teams.Generates the Project Scope for refinery IT-generated projects.Supports the development of comprehensive requirement specifications that will determine the estimate of cost, time, and resources to deploy solutions in conjunction with other IT SMEs.Highlights/identifies gaps in existing functionality and reviews requirements with stakeholders.Contributes to business impact analysis reports to assist business partners with appropriate information about new business requirements and alignment to the prioritized IT roadmap.Delivers designs for complex systems and system integration, as well as managing the implementation of these. Professional Qualification and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.BA Certification desirable. Work Experience: 10 or more years of IT BA experience in a refinery or chemical processing environment.Program Development background.Ideally, a consulting background. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated experience and a proven track record of successfully delivering solutions in a refinery environment.Strong refinery business knowledge and systems knowledge.Strong development background required to provide guidance on technical/development solutions and oversight of vendors delivering such solutions.Advanced IT technical skills to provide guidance to project teams on the development of complex systems. Deep understanding of the manufacturing technology stack, including OS, DB, middleware, application layer, OT, IoT, virtualization, and cloud technologies.Good communication and customer focus - the ability to influence multiple IT and business stakeholder groups to agree on a single set of prioritized requirements.Proven analytical skills - the ability to understand business requirements for enhancements and reports.
