Red Seal Diesel Mechanic

Job description
We are seeking for an experienced and certified Red Seal Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, with a focus on Drill Rigs in an opencast mining environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct inspections, repairs, and diagnostics on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components, with a primary focus on Drill Rigs.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform proactive checks to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime in demanding field conditions.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to accurately identify and resolve mechanical issues.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed following SHEQ standards to maintain a safe working environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Red Seal Certification as a Diesel Mechanic.
5+ years' experience with opencast drill rigs or similar heavy machinery, particularly with hydraulics and diesel engines.
Advanced Technical Skills: Expertise in diesel engine maintenance, hydraulic and electrical systems, with strong troubleshooting abilities.
Leadership & Communication: Ability to work independently while also guiding junior team members as needed and communicating clearly with colleagues.
Physical Fitness: Capability to handle physical demands in rugged mining conditions.
