We currently have a vacancy for the position of Receptionist, based in Johannesburg.Overall purpose of the job: Welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries, and directing calls & visitors to the relevant department.ResponsibilitiesAnswer telephone, screen, and direct calls.Take and relay messages.Provide information to callers.Direct persons to the correct destination.Deal with queries from the public and customers.Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of the organisation.Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness.Provide general administrative and clerical support.Prepare correspondence and documents.Receive and sort mail and deliveries.Monitor and maintain office equipment.Control inventory relevant to the reception area.Ensure the tidiness of the reception area.QualificationsQualification in office administration or similar – highly preferred.Previous experience of at least two years in a similar position.Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).Excellent command of the English language.Ability to manage customer expectations.Customer-focused - ability to excel in the provision of service.Energetic, shows initiative, and has the ability to work under pressure.Ability to consistently deliver quality service even when under pressure.Time management skills and keen sense of attention to detail.PC literate (Excel, Word, e-mail; SAP literate a distinct advantage).
