WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE ROLE
Lead the Raw Material & Packaging Warehousing function, overseeing & managing daily operations within the warehouses to ensure efficient & effective handling of inventory. This role involves managing warehouse staff and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency, coordinating with other departments, maintaining Food safety & HS standards, and optimizing warehouse processes as well as stock takes. This role requires a proactive and solution-oriented approach to manage both routine tasks and unexpected challenges, ensuring that the warehouse operates smoothly and effectively.
WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS
Team Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate warehouse staff. Schedule shifts and manage staff workload to meet operational demands. Address performance issues and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
Inventory Management: Oversee receiving, storage, and issuing of raw material & packaging. Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure the accuracy of stock levels. Implement and maintain inventory control systems. Responsible for stock takes & cycle counts in warehouses.
Undertake short, medium and long-term planning of space. Adhere to stock rotation principles.
Address and resolve any issues related to stock & order discrepancies as well as stock variances.
Operational Efficiency: Develop and enforce warehouse policies and procedures. Monitor and improve warehouse operations to enhance efficiency. Manage equipment and ensure proper use. Maintain daily housekeeping & GMP's of the warehouses.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly. Enforce safety training programs for warehouse staff. Administer all Food Safety related documents & practices where applicable.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of inventory and warehouse activities. Generate reports on key metrics, such as stock levels, 3 way match orders received & stock aging reports. Perform and oversee administrative duties.
SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES

Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision in inventory management and operational tasks.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, analyse root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, management, and external partners.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands.
Preferred Experience & Qualification
A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with at least 4 -6 years in a supervisory role.
High level of numeracy & inventory management.
Staff management experience.
Proficient in MS Office including Excel & WMS (Warehouse management systems).
Forklift & stacker certification or other relevant certifications preferred.
OSHA or safety training certifications a plus.
