Purpose: Ensure that the receiving department runs smoothly and efficiently by managing, directing, controlling, and supervising the team to facilitate the successful running of the department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Receive stock; ensure bulk stock checks are conducted, and receive deliveries from relevant suppliers with security present.Check and ensure invoice information contains accurate information in accordance with stock received; check the quality of stock received for damages, expirations, and shortages.Check on stock rotation; order packaging materials and check on swell allowance and wastage.Conduct on-the-job training and coaching to your team by motivating and developing them to achieve objectives & strategies.Ensure the team exercises hygiene control and maintains excellent housekeeping protocols in compliance with health departments.Ensure that caution and safety measures are in place at all times when equipment is used, such as pallet jacks, hysters, and lifts. Ensure that relevant equipment is serviced, maintained, and cleaned.Ensure that there is an upkeep of excellent customer service towards reps and suppliers at all times.Establish good working relationships with your team as well as with suppliers and delivery persons.Supervise staff to be efficient warehouse assistants; resolve staff issues when necessary.Competencies:Grade 12 (Matric)Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Great interpersonal and communication skills.Experience:2-3 years' experience in a supervisory/managerial role in the receiving department.Experience in a retail environment will be advantageous.Job Type: Full-time
