Receiving Clerk

Key Responsibilities: Receiving & Unpacking Shipments: Assist with the physical unloading of merchandise from delivery trucks. Check the shipment against delivery invoices to ensure accuracy. Unpack and sort items in designated areas, ensuring items are in good condition. Inventory Documentation: Record and tag incoming inventory accurately in the system. Identify and report any discrepancies or damaged items to the Receiving Supervisor. Maintain organized, up-to-date records of all received shipments. Stock Management: Organize and label items in the stockroom based on the store's inventory system. Assist with periodic inventory counts and stock audits as required. Rotate stock and ensure older items are positioned for easy access to reduce overstocking. Communication and Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and merchandising, to fulfill stock requests efficiently. Notify appropriate departments about new arrivals or special orders. Assist in preparing items for store transfer or returns as directed. Safety & Cleanliness: Ensure stockroom is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner. Adhere to all store and safety policies, including handling of heavy items and use of equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts (if trained).
