Role Purpose The purpose of the Digital Campaign Trainee role is to maximise ad delivery efficiency and effectiveness through the successful execution of digital campaigns and all related operations. The role works under the guidance and direction of the ad ops and digital campaign management team to develop and fulfil digital campaigns, ensuring creative and engaging messaging and appropriate delivery channels and reporting. The role supports digital campaign management accounts and activities in accordance with the business intent and trade plans, initiating, coordinating and reporting on related campaigns, while providing end-to-end delivery on assigned accounts according to planned timelines and quality standards.
Role Description & What to Expect Learn all the basics of campaign management across various platforms such as Meta, TikTok, DV360, Google Ads, Google Analytics and Google Ad Manager. Support the team executing retail media campaigns for suppliers on Checkers Sixty60. Work on the group brands such as Checkers, Shoprite, Checkers Sixty60 and more. Assist with product feed management and learn how to execute dynamic ads. Assist with reporting with access to sales rich data. Learn how to set up dashboards using Looker Studio. Monitor live campaigns and learn what criteria is considered when optimizing for specific objectives. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of digital campaign plans. Ensure invoices are accurate and campaign budgets are executed within required parameters. Conduct research and utilise insights to optimise and grow future campaigns. Ensure data, technology, and strategy work together to maximise ad delivery efficiency and effectiveness. Qualifications and Experience Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Advertising, Media or related – (essential). Exposure to delivering campaigns in an ad ops environment across digital touchpoints and channels, using analytics to inform and scale successful marketing campaigns - (advantageous). Exposure to advertising tools (Google Ads, DV360, GAM, Facebook Ad Manager, tracking and verification tools) – (advantageous). Knowledge on one or more of the following as part of work exposure or academic training: Media and marketing ecosystem Marketing principles and practices including customer journey and content development Media landscape in the broader business and/or retail industry Proficiency in MS Office – (essential).
