Design Engineer - Railway - Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE)Reference: CTE025161-Nonku-1Our client is seeking a skilled professional to join their team as a Design Engineer specializing in Railway - Overhead Traction Equipment (OHTE). In this role, you will engage in a dynamic fusion of state-of-the-art technology, meticulous analysis, and innovative problem-solving. Your expertise will be instrumental in crafting robust and awe-inspiring civil structures that push the boundaries of modern infrastructure.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop Electrical OHTE construction project specifications and designs based on customer requirements and railway OHTE design standards.Collaborate with contractors and other construction professionals to ensure that engineering designs are feasible and meet all client project requirements.Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software and other requisite engineering tools to create and refine construction project designs, including creating 3D models and animations using CAD and BIM software.Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to determine the viability of new designs and construction techniques.Develop and maintain project and contract documentation, including design reports, design drawings, and specifications.Ensure that construction projects meet statutory and regulatory requirements and adhere to railway safety, reliability, and sustainability standards.Collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary project team to ensure that construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with defined quality standards.Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings and make recommendations to senior project management team members.Conduct regular project team meetings and provide guidance and support to the multi-disciplinary team members.Ensure that all project stakeholders are kept informed of project progress and project planning and milestone changes.Skills & Experience:Registered Professional Engineer with ECSA.Minimum of ten years of OHTE Railway Design experience.Five years of the ten years post-professional registration (Pr.Eng/ Pr.Tech Eng) dedicated to Substation and Transmission Line design.Experience in Construction Management is essential.Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools such as ACAD, BIM, and/or Revit is mandatory.Experience with MS Office applications is required.Qualification:BSc/BEng Degree or BTech (Electrical).Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.Contact Nonku Ndzondo on 021 418 1750, quoting the Ref: CTE025161.Connect with us on www.communicate.co.za and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Engineering recruitment vacancies.
