THINK is looking for qualified Locum Radiographers (x 2) that will be based in Louis Trichardt and Marblehall, providing support as and when required.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee the scheduling and coordination of the Digital X-Ray unit.
Conduct X-rays, ensuring top-quality results, and manage uploads to AI systems (qBox) and the Orca cloud.
Maintain and regularly inspect X-ray equipment, guaranteeing regulatory compliance.
Drive the quality assurance protocols as dictated by the equipment provider, including maintaining comprehensive records of all QA tasks.
Counsel patients about procedures and obtain their consent.
Communicate screening results to patients and arrange clinical assessments if required.
Ensure patients with unusual dCXR results are forwarded for deeper evaluation.
Abide by SAHPRA's stipulated regulations.
Adhere to radiation safety standards, practicing the ALARA principle to protect patients.
Monitor and maintain records of employee radiation exposure, and manage radiation medicals and monitoring badges.
Supervise Mobile Unit support staff, including the Driver and Enrolled Nurse.
Oversee staff attendance and leave, reporting to the District Coordinator/Manager.
Keep a detailed electronic registry of patients, noting names, exam details, and dates.
Ensure adequate stock levels of essential supplies like printing paper, PPE, and stationery.
Record checks on lead protection gear as directed by the supplier.
Prepare monthly reports detailing work metrics and submit to the Line Manager.
Uphold the IER file ensuring it remains current and comprehensive.
Understand and propagate organizational objectives, clarifying operational instructions, policies, and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
Foster a positive working environment through active participation and communication.
Strictly adhere to security regulations.
Promptly report safety and security incidents.
Participate in Radiation Safety Training and adhere to radiation safety regulations.
Safeguard company property and assets.
Requirements:
Degree/National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
A minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Radiographer (Post Community Serve).
Comprehensive knowledge and adherence to radiation safety practices and guidelines.
Proficiency in using digital radiographic systems and software, including AI and cloud-based platforms.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
