A construction company specializing in high-end, timber frame residential projects is looking for a qualified and professional Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to the company's continued success and involves on-site work, as well as being in the office. Please note that this position has the opportunity to become hybrid.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director and be responsible for managing all aspects of project costs, ensuring financial efficiency, and providing expert advice throughout the construction process.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- prepare accurate cost estimates for proposed projects and present them to prospective clients for contract purposes.
- draft contract documents between the company and the client.
- prepare Bills of Quantities based on architectural plans, and other tender documentation to acquire fair and equitable tenders for projects.
- analyse tenders and negotiate accordingly.
- maintain accurate records of all supplier invoices for clients.
- procure materials and services in line with project requirements.
- evaluate contractor and supplier quotations and negotiate best pricing.
- monitor material usage and place orders when required, ensuring the timeously delivery of materials to site.
- prepare and submit regular cost reports, while consistently monitoring and managing projects budget throughout.
- document any changes in design and update budgets accordingly.
- determine final costs of projects through monthly valuations of work in progress.
- collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
- establish and maintain professional relationships with clients.

REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant degree or certification in Quantity Surveying, Estimation, or a related field
- Ability to perform accurate cost calculations
- Proficiency in Excel (proficiency in other construction estimating software and project management tools would be advantageous)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Candidates must have their own transportation
