QUANTITY SURVEYOR

RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide quantity surveying services to the University focusing on estimating project costs for budget purposes, compiling tender documents, and providing consulting services to Facilities Management.
To develop and maintain appropriate planning processes, procedures, and plans for Facilities Management projects e.g., procurement processes, capital planning, and project management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A relevant Bachelor's Degree or a Bachelor of Technology degree with 5 years practical experience as a Quantity Surveyor;
5 years' experience in cost estimation;
5 years specific experience with contract documentation and administration;
Registered with South African Council for Quantity Surveying Profession/MIRCS or equivalent;
Valid driver's licence.

Knowledge in National building regulations;
Knowledge on construction costs and tariffs;
Knowledge on contract law;
Knowledge on construction and tender documentation;

Cost estimating methods;
Computer literacy skills;
Time management;
Precision and accuracy;
Adaptability and flexibility;
Ability to work in teams and promote teamwork;
Attention to detail;
Mathematical reasoning and results focused;
Organisational ability and administrative skills.
