Matheus Group is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for pricing a tender document for an upcoming project, with the deadline for submission on the 28th of May 2024. Position: Quantity Surveyor (Temporary)
Location: Matheus Group Headquarters, 43 Biccard Street, Polokwane 0700
Duration: Temporary, with an expected duration of (specify duration)
Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret the tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
Accurately price the BOQ and prepare detailed cost estimates for all aspects of the project, including materials, labor, and equipment.
Collaborate with the project team to ensure that all pricing is in line with project requirements and budget constraints.
Create cashflow projections for the duration of the project, taking into account procurement schedules, payment terms, and project milestones.
Provide support and guidance to the tendering team throughout the tender process, addressing any queries or concerns as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Proven experience in quantity surveying, with a strong understanding of construction cost estimation and tender pricing processes.
Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, BuildSoft) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Deadline-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
