Job Description Quantity Surveyor Company : Glencore Coal SA Location : Witbank, Mpumalanga, South Africa Department : Group Services Job ID : GRS MM 2025/04 Closing Date : 14 January 2025 Role Overview The Quantity Surveyor will oversee the compilation of construction costs and manage contracts for multiple projects.
The role involves cost estimation, tender management, contract execution, and adherence to internal controls.
Key Responsibilities Compile costs for scopes of work for project-related contracts, including trade-off investigations.
Prepare Bills of Quantities for bulk earthworks, civil services, piling, concrete, building, and structural steelwork.
Create full commercial tender documents.
Evaluate and adjudicate tenders, draft approvals, and contract documentation.
Conduct monthly progress measurements, contractor payments, and final closeout settlements.
Perform month-end reporting, forecasting, and cost analysis of contracts.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and procedures.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification.
Registration with the South African Council for Quantity Surveying .
Minimum Experience 3–5 years of on-site construction experience, including: Estimating.
Project planning.
Bills of Quantities preparation.
Tender processes, pricing, and contract escalation.
Contract management.
Proficiency in MS Office .
Experience in mining projects is advantageous.
