Description: AHRI is looking for a Quality Officer who will be based at our Somkhele campus. The successful candidate will work within the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the implementation of the quality control processes and systems within the CTU. The successful candidate will be expected to follow procedures according to departmental systems, Standard Operating Procedures, to monitor and evaluate internal processes and to ensure that they meet quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of a quality control, quality improvement and quality assurance programme within CTU, becoming actively engaged in guaranteeing quality in all aspects of clinical research and clinical trials from data collection, clinical research site operations to the clinical management of research participants.
Overview of Duties: Develop quality control processes and activities.Monitor and evaluate internal quality control processes.Ensure that clinical research processes are conducted in accordance with guidelines, standards, and regulations.Work in a multidisciplinary team within the Clinical Research Department to ensure strict adherence to quality improvement.Carry out any other duties as directed by Line Manager and Principal Investigator.Minimum Qualifications: Senior certificate (Grade 12).Quality Management Diploma (or equivalent).Computer Literacy Certification (MS Office - Word, Excel & PowerPoint).Valid driver's license. Must be a confident driver.Fluency in English and Zulu.Minimum Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical research.A minimum of 2-3 years' experience coordinating a project and supervising junior staff members.Advantageous: Keen interest in developing their own career i.e., Master's or PhD Candidate.Clinical research experience or familiarity with clinical research data collection.Experience in staff supervision and coordination.Knowledge of current health and public service legislation, regulation, and policies.Ability to document information accurately, methodically and pay attention to detail.Ability to work independently and show initiative.Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and HSP Certification.Worker Type: Employee
