Our 97,000 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories, working together to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world.Job DescriptionOperate to the highest standard of ethics as indicated in SGS integrity programsAssist with strategic planning for quality in the DivisionFulfill the role of Quality Manager as per ISO17025Maintain an up to date scope of testing and co-ordination of the documentation and standard operating procedures required to comply with laboratory ISO accreditationFacilitate and monitor method validation process in the Geochem DivisionReview quality control data for trends, biases or problemsDetermines control limits for standard reference materialsFacilitate external audits, follow up and resolve external audit action itemsReviews and statistically trends PT resultsEvaluate, review and monitoring of the re-assays in the GeochemCoordinate the database for re-assays billing.Manage the process of document control for the laboratoryManage and facilitate the proper Management of Change in the GeochemCoordinate and administer the improvement systemsBuild relationships with all technical and professional personnelAssist with the evaluation and root cause analysis of proficiency tests, customer complaints, and improvement requestsProvide planned quality related training and awareness as requiredFacilitate and plan all management reviewsComply with health, safety and environmental acts, regulations and requirementsWork with a safety conscious attitude and demonstrates good and safe work habitsParticipate and form part of Operational Integrity projects and campaignsApply Check status process and use the Stop Work Authority whenever the control of risks is not clearly established and understoodAdhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.Must have valid driver's license. Transporting of samples on site.Assist with the training on new methods and/or procedures.QualificationsEducationBSc, BTech or National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Science and/or proven years of laboratory, knowledge, skills and experience sufficient to be recognized as a qualification through – Recognition of Prior LearningISO or College Quality Assurance Program DiplomaGrade 12 / Matric or N3 with Mathematics and Science as subjectsExperience8 Years work experience in a testing environment5 Years management system experience (ISO 9000, 17025 or other)Advance Microsoft software experienceDocument and report writing experienceStatistical Quality Control knowledgeRequired SkillsSelf-motivatorExcellent problem-solving skillsOutstanding Attention to detailExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalitiesGood verbal and communication skillsAbility to consistently meet deadlinesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamSuperb organizational skills and concern for orderEffective planning skillsAbility to multi-task and handle several issues simultaneouslyAbility to maintain a positive and professional attitude when dealing with escalated issues
