Quality EngineerWe are currently recruiting for a qualified Quality Engineer to join our team.Job Purpose:The position of Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that customer processes and quality requirements are applied within programme and product specifications as set by the customer, ensuring that manufacturing activities are aligned to producing product that meets the customer's expected deliverables.Duties & ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and eliminate actual/potential non-conformances using recognised quality problem-solving techniques (Corrective and preventative action).Analyse product data using advanced SPC techniques.Conduct capability studies on data and advise required actions.Appointed as Deputy PSB – Product Safety Representative.Promote continuous improvement philosophy.Ensure all test and inspection requirements are met and records are filed.Ensure all related documents are updated and controlled as per quality systems requirements.Ensure all deviations from normal processing techniques are controlled and approved using the recognised system.Control of customer specifications and drawings as per defined system.Ensure ongoing product compliance, product- and process-audits, as per schedule.Evaluate customer complaints and warranties and generate the necessary documentation.Generate quality problem reports for suppliers when defective parts are received.Ensure product training for Production and Quality staff.Promote, adhere to, and ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and instructions in the capacity of employment e.g. Environmental Management Systems, Health and Safety, Quality, HIV/AIDS etc.Ensure safety, health and environmental issues relating to all activities conducted on the company's premises are respected.Ensure projects are planned and progressed for introduction into production in a smooth, timely and coordinated manner.Conduct any function in QA department when needed.Ensure all equipment and test devices are signed off using recognised quality techniques.Ensure unchangeables are reviewed, implemented and maintained.Ensure all product work instructions and forms are compiled on corporate standard, reviewed, implemented and maintained.Ensure FMEA are compiled based on generic FMEA, reviewed, implemented and maintained.Ensure control plans are compiled based on generic control plan, reviewed, implemented and maintained.KEY PERFORMANCE AND RESULT AREASUnderstanding and applying both customer(s) and Plastic Omnium process and product quality requirements, ensuring these are properly understood by all role players and are consistently applied across the manufacturing and supply chain.Analysing customer product data using accepted statistical (SPC) and quality techniques, also ensuring that regular testing and monitoring of product consistency and quality conformance takes place at all critical points throughout the production process.Controlling product documentation and ensuring specifications are maintained through ongoing detection methods and calibrated testing devices to identify deviations and non-compliance, as well as corrective actions.Evaluate and progress customer ppm and warranty claims.Drive actions through the supply chain to ensure speedy resolution.Co-ordinate change activities through active involvement as a project team member.Desired Experience & QualificationMINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSMatric with Maths plus a Mechanical Engineering qualification.Minimum two years' experience in a similar position, preferably in the automotive industry.Technical background with experience in metrology will be an advantage.Relevant QMS and Audit training, with sound understanding of inspection methodologies.Required Capabilities and SkillsGood problem-solving and analytical skills.Results-oriented approach.Prioritising abilities.Team and project management skills.Package & RemunerationMarket Related
