Quality Control Manager

Our client is looking for a Quality Control Manager to be responsible for ensuring equipment/plant is correctly manufactured by our Chinese partners, tested and packed in conjunction with the procedures of the companies QMS, to SABS and International standards. The successful candidate will be a Senior welding Inspector with a Paint Inspector qualification. Position Details: Type: Permanent Reports to: Contracts Director Primary Purpose: Responsible for ensuring equipment/plant is correctly manufactured by our Chinese partners, tested and packed in conjunction with the procedures of the companies QMS, to SABS and International standards. Job description / core competencies: - Ensure a good working relationship is maintained with our Chinese Partners and solve problems in relation to quality and expediting of manufacturing to grow mutual respect and improved relationships. - Manage activities of the Engineering Assistant Quality and QC inspectors respectively. - Attend and validate Supplier Quality Kick-Off meeting in accordance with the companies QMS. - Monitoring and reporting of Workshop loading. - Expedite The partners documentation and drawing requirements are approved and issued in accordance with the companies Purchase Order such as Manufacturing Schedule, WPSs, PQRs, WQTCs and NDE procedures. - Expedite and approve QCPs/ITPs for equipment components complete with the companies intervention points for issue to Contacts Engineer. - Monitor and verify manufacturing drawings issued to the respective manufacturing workshops by The partners are consistent with the latest approved drawings issued by the companies and verify latest revisions in circulation. - Expedite and verify that material and equipment has been ordered and delivered in accordance with the relevant specifications and standards by The partners including verification of certified material and material traceability throughout. - Inspect equipment/plant components in accordance with QCPs/ITPs and ensure compliance with the purchase order, approved drawings and relevant specifications and international standards. - Ensure that correct manufacturing processes are implemented and enforced by the partners workshops in accordance with the relevant specifications and standards. - Raise non-conformance reports with detailed description of the non-conformity to the partners for root cause analyses including the necessary corrective and preventative actions to be concluded by the partners. - Expedite delivery of components and equipment and ensure completion in accordance with the companies Purchase Order and the contract program issued by the contracts engineer. - Ensure trial assemblies, shop assemblies and factory acceptance tests (FATs) are complete by The partners workshops in accordance with the relevant specifications and international standards. - Arrange the testing/inspections with Customers in conjunction with contracts engineer and compile all necessary QMS documentation after acceptance by Customer. - Complete equipment pre-delivery checklists, inspection and release certificates and final release certificates. - Supervise packing, crating, and loading of equipment into containers or onto trucks. Ensure bills of material on assembly drawings are cross checked against packing lists to ensure all components and material are loaded complete with photographic verification of all components detailed on packing lists. - Recording, monitoring, and coordinating resolution of all non-conformances, concessions and technical queries. - Ensure The partners data books are compiled and approved in accordance with customers requirements. - Evaluate and contract suitable qualified local inspection services as and when required. - Conduct Supplier SHEQ assessments for new and existing Suppliers in accordance with the companies QMS. - Weekly report summarising quality and expediting for all purchase orders highlighting problem areas and corrective actions required. Location (city, province): China Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Senior welding inspector, level 2 - Paint Inspector (Qualification), level 1 or 2 - Additional Qualification but not compulsory: ISO 9001 auditor - Level 1 Welding Inspector SAIW diploma number 8877. - Senior (Level 2) Welding Inspector SAIW diploma number 5147. - Certified Magnetic Particle Inspector Level 1, through SANDE. - Internationally qualified coating inspector, NACE CIP Level 1,Cert no 55918. - Qualified Level 2 Galvanizing Inspector HDGASA. - Internationally qualified coating inspector, NACE CIP Level 2, Cert no 55918. - Liquid Penetrant Testing Level 2 Certificate numbers 23/0678/2 & 23/-683/1/PED (EN ISO 9712). - Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 Certificate numbers 23/0677/2 & 23/0684/1/PED (EN ISO 9712).
