Job SummaryTo perform quality control functions for a Pharmaceutical Company.Key Performance Areas and Key Performance IndicatorsAccountabilities and ResponsibilitiesPerform analytical procedures (final product samples / in-process samples / raw materials):Validate methodPrep of standard solutions and testing reagentsAnalysisRecordkeeping of dataReportingRetention of samplesTurnaround timeAccuracy of analytical resultsCompliance to GMPCompliance to QMSCompliance to testing method specificationQuality reportingTimely reporting of deviations and Out Of SpecificationsExternal audits - no major findings or incidentsPrepare testing specifications:Accuracy - Correctness of informationPrepare product specifications:Accuracy - Correctness of informationVerifications and calibration of laboratory instruments (HPLC / GC):Timeous (according to schedule)Housekeeping (label standards, safety, waste management and disposal, work areas, glassware, consumables):ComplianceSample management - sample control of all samples submitted:ComplianceManagementOperational Planning – follow schedules, prioritizing, targets:Personal work and project plans met standardsMonitoring and Reporting - monitoring, control, corrective action:Consistently reviewed own progress, quality, and compliance, took corrective actions and gave quality feedback timeouslyOperational Efficiency – processes, workflow integration (silo busting), systems, standards, compliance, methodologies:Established and effectively used processes, systems, professional standards, methodologies, practicesResourcing and Capacity Management – people, infrastructure, systems, technology, equipment, knowledge, information; facilities, etc.:Secured and used resources efficiently and optimized costDecision Making – escalations, decisions, problem solving:Identified and resolved work obstacles and issues effectively and quickly / Analysis and recommendations based on thorough research and decisions led to better resultsDesired Experience & QualificationQualification / Education / CertificationAnalytical Chemistry Diploma or Applicable B Tech or related qualificationExperienceAt least 2 years of experience as an analyst in a Pharmaceutical laboratory or Food & Beverage industry experienceFunctional CompetenciesAnalytical problem solvingEffective verbal and written communication skillsBasic knowledge of statistical methods in analytical chemistryProficient in Excel – data manipulation and interrogationAbility to handle multiple tasks concurrently in a timely fashionDeciding & initiating action (pro-activity) and results drivenInterpersonal relationshipsCommunicationAnalysing and problem solving, including strategic thinking capability and ability to deal with complexityPlanning and organisingAdapting and responding to changeCoping with pressures and setbacksPackage & RemunerationR 10 000 - R12 000 CTC p/m
