Quality Assurance Officer

Digital Ink Manufacturer based in Cape Town has an opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Officer. This person will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure packaging and manufacturing process meet the highest standards. It includes supporting new product development, conducting regular inspections, writing and updating SOP's and collaborating with production teams. The QA Officer will also monitor quality performance data, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide training and support to staff. Tertiary qualification in Quality/Industrial Engineering and a minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing industry required.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering/related
Additional certificates (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Six Sigma)
3 Years of experience in manufacturing industry
Experience in Packaging industry will be an advantage
Strong knowledge and implementation experience of quality management systems (ISO 9001 specifically)
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
Experience in writing and updating SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Good communication and organizational skills
Self-disciplined and able to work alone

Duties:

Develop, implement and maintain QA processes and procedures
New product development support, by collaborating with product development team
Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on processes and finished products
Write and Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Collaborate with production to identify manufacturing issues
Monitor, analyze and report on quality performance
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance
Investigate and resolve customer complaints
Maintain detailed record of QA activities and findings
Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Liaise with suppliers to ensure material quality standards
Building own QMS knowledge and Compliance
Participate in building quality objectives
Perform sporadic production checks and follow through on HSE minutes and findings
Implement efficient document control
Leading RCA investigations into product complaints
Assist management of change processes
