OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE: You will play a critical role in supporting the qualitative team to deliver exceptional insights to clients and by doing so you will gain invaluable experience working across a range of industries and supporting diverse business needs. Your role will be working closely with the team across all project elements such as (but not limited to); proposal and pitch preparation, DG & recruitment questionnaire compilation, conducting data analysis, analysing information to recommend strategic initiatives and report compilation. Your efforts will help some of the world's most interesting and exciting organisations realise growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA'S: Reporting to the Associate Director Qualitative, your key roles and responsibilities would include: RESEARCH DESIGN: Working with researchers across the MDI Africa network, you will help design research proposals that provide answers to client's business questions. This includes participation in brainstorming sessions to establish methodology, creation of proposal templates and development of the actual proposal. Appraising client briefs to understand clients' needs and business objectives Demonstrate critical thinking and research knowledge to help the research team produce effective proposals. Collaborate with clients to suggest and implement best practice research designs and output Input into recruitment questionnaire design and development, mobile qualitative discussion guide and mobile engagement task preparation. Checking recruitment questionnaires before deployment to ensure an optimal consumer experience and no mistakes present. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Project manage and oversee quantitative projects from start to finish to ensure the research team can deliver against agreed objectives, and within required budgets and timelines. Schedule and participate in regular project planning and review meetings. Highlighting any project management concerns with your manager to ensure seamless client service. Ability to work outside of defined parameters and be able to adapt to situations as they change. Prepare simple project costings for your managers review, including sourcing costs from 3rd party suppliers. Building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best project outcomes for MDI. MODERATION & FW: Liaise with FW suppliers in setting up research projects and ensuring the correct consumer mix is achieved for all qualitative projects. Deploying qualitative discussion tasks on our mobile platforms Ability to moderate consumer groups, in-depth interviews, lead ethnographies and conduct general FW across a variety of demographic groups. REPORTING: Working together with the qual team, assisting with all elements of reporting, such as analysis of qualitative data, charting findings of the study and assisting with report commentary and summary. Providing insight recommendations that align to the client's research and business objectives. Commitment to producing insightful, high-quality and timely deliverables to our clients. Participating in research presentations to clients. CLIENT ENGAGEMENT: Proactively sell the benefits of MDI to potential clients. Day to day interaction & relationship building with existing clients. Proactive & responsive communication with all clients. Consistent & timely delivery. Requirements
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE At least 2 years' experience within a full-service research agency. (a must) Robust agency side - market research experience with a solid understanding of qualitative research processes and some understanding of quantitative research. Qualifications in the field of sociology, psychology, statistics, anthropology etc. Project management skills: hands on end-to-end in managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring seamless execution and comprehensive delivery of results. Discussion Guide Compilation: based on the research objectives assisting in the compilation of discussion guides that answer study objectives in a clear and concise manner Are comfortable moderating and dealing with consumers, whether face-to-face or virtually. Adept at organising, strong logistical skills and can coordinate various pieces of a project to ensure all parts come together seamlessly within given time frames. Digitally savvy – in tune with social media platforms, AI bots such as ChatGPT & solid working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word & Excel. Proactive creative thinker and problem solver; a strong communicator with good presentation skills, capable of conveying complex concepts in a clear and compelling manner. Flexibility to work collaboratively as well as autonomously. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights. Hands on approach: The ability to work as part of a team in collaborating, supporting, encouraging and challenging your peers. Excellent verbal and written English. (Arabic, French and/or Portuguese language skills would be a plus) Experience conducting research across various African markets (specifically Egypt, Kenya and Nigeria) would be a plus
