Machine Shop Machine Tool Fitter VacancyPosition: Machine Tool FitterTwo positions for a Machine Tool Fitter are available in the Machine Shop. The successful candidate must have extensive machine tool fitting experience in a similar environment. The candidate will need to know how to strip and assemble different types of machines and be able to repair breakdowns. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required- Trade Tested Fitter with 10 years experience.- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.- Ability to measure with verniers, micrometers, thread gauges etc.- Ability to strip and assemble gearboxes.- Ability to draft a materials list and complete simple sketches and drawings.- Ability to do routine maintenance and attend to mechanical break downs when required. - Ability to strip and assemble lead screws and ball screws.- Must be familiar with setting gibs.- Must have hydraulics and pneumatics operating machinery experience.- Must be familiar with electromagnetic and mechanical clutches.- Must be able to work independently and adhere to deadlines.- Must have proven ability to do fault finding.- Understand the safe working procedure of the machines.- Must be able to adhere to general housekeeping rules.- Own transport- Must be able to work shifts.Minimum Education & Experience required- Matric or equivalent along with at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience within a Machine Shop.
