The Engineering Department currently has a vacancy for an attentive to detail, self-motivated and dedicated individual to join their team in the Fitters department.The Duties and responsibilities will include: Conducting mechanical inspections on all production machinery when requiredCompliance and adherence to the Company in-house maintenance program and proceduresResponsible for conducting routine planned and preventative maintenanceHydraulic systems (leaks repairs, Filter change outs)Conveyor belts, drives, pulleys and replacement of rollersLubrication tasksV-belts replacementsGeneral housekeepingAttend breakdowns when required on all Production machineryFault finding on hydraulic systemsAssembly and pressure testing of hydraulic cylindersServicing of various hydraulic componentsProvide coaching to semi-skilled staffAdhering to the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety ActQualifying Criteria: Qualified Fitter Artisan (Red Seal certification)Minimum Grade 12 or equivalentMinimum 5 years' experience in a heavy industry or similar environmentMust be physical fit and able to work at heights and in confined spacesStrong Hydraulic background will be an advantageQualifying Attributes:Must be able to work with minimum supervisionBasic computer proficiencyEnjoy practical and manual work & be able to work in a pressurized environmentAbility to work independently as well as in a teamSelf-motivated and results orientatedGood communication skillsMust have sober habitsAttention to detailWillingness to work overtime when requiredMust be a team playerSound understanding of an array of tools and technical equipmentOther Information:Job title: Qualified FitterReporting to: Fitters ManagerJob type: Permanent positionBenefits include· Provident fund· Life cover· Funeral cover· 15 x paid leave days per annum· Long service leave after five years of employmentStandard hours07h30–17h00: Monday – Thursday07h30–16h00: FridayMay be required to work overtime as per operational requirementsInterested applicants are required to forward their CV.
