Qualified Boilermaker

SA STEELWORKS - QUALIFIED BOILERMAKERThe Group has a Qualified Boilermaker position available at SA Steelworks.
The successful candidate will provide support to the Boilershop Department and will be situated at our Branch in the Airport Industria, Cape Town.
The successful candidates will report to the Boilershop Manager.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Must be a qualified boilermaker with minimum 5 - 8 years working experienceMust have own transport and a valid unendorsed licenseMust be able to work overtime, public holidays and weekends if requiredMust be available for callouts when neededMust be available for December and Easter shutdownsPrevious working experience in a steel environment (Meltshop)will be an advantageMust have extensive knowledge of structural steel with the ability to read drawings and build equipment with minimum supervisionMust be able to work well within a team environmentMust be able to work independently when requiredAbility to work under challenging conditionsMust have basic knowledge of Health & Safety RulesGood communication skillsKnowledge of various hand and workshop tools is an advantageMust not have a fear of heights or confined spacesMust have experience with Automated Maintenance systemsMust have good fitness levels and mobilityRESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for manufacture/fabrication/assembly and or erection of workResponsible for day to day maintenance of machinery in and around the plantResponsible for attending to breakdowns of machinery in and around the plantWill perform daily inspection of the plant (RCM: Reliable Centralized Maintenance system)General housekeeping in and around the boilermaker workshop
