Qualified AccountantLocation: Foreshore, Cape TownWe are seeking a qualified accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing and signing off year-end financial statements, managing tax compliance, and handling VAT matters. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.Key Responsibilities:Year-End Financials:Prepare and review year-end financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.Ensure accuracy and compliance with financial reporting requirements.Sign off on financial statements and liaise with external auditors during the audit process.Tax Compliance:Prepare and submit corporate tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.Provide tax planning and advisory services to optimize tax liabilities.Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.VAT Management:Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.Ensure compliance with VAT regulations and maintain proper documentation.Provide guidance on VAT-related queries and assist in VAT audits.Financial Analysis:Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making.Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.Collaboration:Work closely with other departments to gather necessary financial information.Provide support and training to junior staff as needed.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is essential.Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on year-end financials, tax, and VAT.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skillsRemuneration:Package to be disused in interview
