QC Level 1 InspectorThe QC Level 1 Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and integrity of products within a manufacturing environment. This position involves inspecting, testing, and evaluating materials, components, and products to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.Reporting to: QC ManagerDuties & ResponsibilitiesConduct visual and dimensional inspections of materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards, engineering drawings, and specifications.Perform dimensional measurements using precision tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product dimensions and tolerances, at various stages of production.Conduct functional testing and performance evaluations of products to ensure they meet functional requirements and performance expectations.Review material certificates and other related documentation of incoming materials and components to ensure they meet quality requirements of the fabrication code, client specifications, and the Company's in-house procedures before they are accepted into production or assembly processes.Document inspection results, including non-conformities, discrepancies, and deviations from quality standards, in inspection reports and quality records.Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence of quality defects.Follow established quality control procedures and protocols to maintain consistency and reliability in inspection processes.Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection workspaces, equipment, and tools to ensure safe and efficient operation.Participate in quality audits and inspections conducted by internal and external stakeholders, providing support and documentation as needed.Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of quality enhancement initiatives.Assist Welding Engineering department with supervision of PQR Welding.Desired Experience & QualificationGrade 12.Trade Test Certificate (Welder or Boilermaker) an advantage, not absolutely required.SAIW Welding and Fabrication inspector Level 1 Certification mandatory.IIW IWI-S is an advantage.Knowledge of ASME codes of construction and AWS D1.1 / AWS D14.3 specifications.Knowledge of NDE Processes (RT, UT, MT, PT).Minimum 3 years' experience in QC inspection within the steel fabrication environment sector.Working with precision measuring instruments, and other inspection equipment such as welding gauges, verniers & (inside and outside) micrometres.Key Skills and AttributesEffective Communication.Time Management.Able to work in High Noise Environment.Physically fit.Able to Stand for long periods.Work with Limited UV exposure.Package & RemunerationMarket related
